The Innkeeper's Second Chance by Riley D. Remos
ARC Book Review
I did an ARC read of this small-town, grumpy-CEO romance—some of my favorite tropes—but the story felt like too many details were squeezed into a very short book. The plot wasn’t bad and the MMC definitely brought the grumpiness, but the chemistry leaned toward insta-love, especially on his side. The FMC struggled with everything in and around the inn but she had some grit to her and never quit.
Would I read it again? Unfortunately, no. It wasn’t one of my favorites, and I don’t enjoy feeling like I’m struggling through a book.
That said, the MMC’s character development was well written, the chemistry was palpable when it hit, and I appreciated that the story stayed focused on the two main characters.
