I love a hockey romance and from the very first chapter, I was hooked, which doesn’t always happen for me - so that alone deserves a mention.
Characters
The MMC is a green-flag, team captain, single dad with the most selfless soul. The FMC was genuinely sweet and relatable, making it impossible not to cheer her on. Their dynamic felt natural and heartfelt.
Banter & Writing Style
The story starts out giving a back story on why he is a single dad and also helps understanding the MMC so much better later in the book. The FMC has past trauma that just makes you so sad that you just want to hug her! What she makes of herself and how she finds herself because of the MMC’s support and love.
Overall Thoughts
This was a deep and beautiful read that kept me engaged from start to finish. If you enjoy a single dad / nanny trope with heartfelt moments, this book is definitely worth picking up. This was a solid 4⭐ read for me, Carmen the softer side of Soft and Sinister.
